I personally was able to figure out what was going on fairly quickly which potentially impacted my enjoyment of the book since I wasn't surprised at the big reveal. I loved Jamie McGuire's other series so I'm disappointed that I wasn't 100% in to this one. Catherine and Elliot become friends, they are separated, Elliot comes back to town a few years later and they fall in love but Catherine has a troubled home life and their families/the town and their issues try to break them apart.
